Jeb Bush, whose father and older brother are both former US presidents, has resigned from all of his board member positions as he explores the possibility of running for president in 2016.
The potential US Republican presidential candidate and former Florida governor has even stepped down from the board of his education foundation, the Washington Post reported on Wednesday.
Bush, 61, made the disclosure on New Year’s Eve through an e-mail sent from an aide to The Washington Post.
The announcement is another sign he is inching towards a bid for the White House,
Bush announced on December 16 that he was “actively exploring” a run for the US presidency in 2016 and would establish a political action committee in January raise funds for his bid for presidency.
Bush is expected to formally announce his candidacy in the coming weeks. He is the first major Republican candidate to make a formal move for the White House,
However, he is already facing some brutal attacks from his own party.
