TORONTO – Environment Canada has ended its wind chill warning and the City of Toronto has removed its extreme cold weather alert as the temperature is expected to warm up “significantly” as we head into the afternoon hours.
Today’s high will be -8 and reach near -7 tonight.
Strong and gusty southwesterly winds will eventually move in later on in the day with wind speeds from 40 to 60 kilometres per hour.
Snow will begin falling later this evening with up to five to 10 centimetres of accumulation in certain areas and end Saturday afternoon.
Blowing snow warnings are in effect for regions east of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay where it is expected to be more significant.
